DBA ROTOR WINS POLICE TRUST
The decision, a result of intensive police trials earlier this year, further strengthens the product's reputation for quality and excellence. It means the NSW Police Service's 340 Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon high-speed pursuit cars will be automatically fitted with DBA Longlife Slotted rotors when replacement rotors are required. DBA Longlife Slotted was chosen over other products because it offers superior braking performance and durability - vital for Highway Patrol cars constantly being put to the test in the most extreme of conditions. Originally alerted to DBA Longlife Slotted because of its connection with Ford Australia's special vehicle division Tickford, the NSW Police Service's interest grew when it looked into the product's claim of providing ultra heavy-duty rotors offering additional durability and powerful stopping in all conditions. DBA Longlife Slotted rotors are manufactured by Disc Brakes Australia. The managing director, Phillip Joseph, welcomed the police news. "To be chosen by the police is a great honour for our company and further confirms our long-term commitment to be industry leaders in terms of quality and excellence," he said. Mr Joseph believes the product's outstanding success is due to its unique composition and design features. "Our rotors are cast from a high strength alloy iron with high thermal properties which has been specifically designed for this purpose," he said. "This structure, combined with the benefits of directional slotting (left and right), make DBA Longlife Slotted hard to match." According to Mr Joseph, directional slotting enables increased pad bite, reduced fade and exceptional braking performance at a cost-effective price. Praise is not new to DBA Longlife Slotted. It was winner on the 1999 AAAA "Best New Aftermarket Product (Parts)" award and has been hailed throughout the automotive industry. Police in other states are believed to be monitoring the NSW decision to determine if they should make a similar move. |
