The tyre, Mickey Thompson Baja Claw, gained the Best 4WD Product 2000 award from "Australian 4WD Monthly" magazine for Brisbane-based company, Exclusive Tyre Distributors, which imports the tyres.

The speed rating of the Baja Claw tyre is Q, which equates to a maximum of 160 kph and such a high speed rating on a bias belted tyre makes it safe and ideal for highway use. It is reflective of the high quality of the Baja Claw compared to other, similar brands of bias 4WD tyres imported here, which either have no speed ratings or ratings below the legal requirements for Australia.
